Activity facts

The season usually starts in mid-July and continues to the end of September.
Overnight stays en route are highly recommended and you will find accommodation in Finse, Hallingskeid, Vatnahalsen, Myrdal, Flåm, Upsete and Mjølfjell.
We recommend that you do the cycling trip on weekdays, as there is greater capacity on trains, and more hire bikes and accommodation available.
Remember that you are travelling high up in the mountains, where weather conditions can change in a second. Bringing the correct clothing is vital.
The nature and terrain in the mountains are vulnerable, so please show due consideration.

There are ATMs at the railway stations in Oslo, Bergen, Flåm and Voss.
Tourist information
Tourist Information offices can be found at the following locations along the route:
- Oslo - By the Central Station and the town hall
- Bergen - By the Fish Market in the city centre
- Voss - By the cinema in the city centre
- Flåm - By the railway station
Toilet
Toilets can be found in the following places on the trip:
- Train - Onboard all trains
- Rallarvegen - Haugastøl, Finse, Fagernut, Hallingskeid, Vatnahalsen, Myrdal and Flåm
Food
Food can be bought at the following places along the route:
- Train - Hot and cold food, snacks and beverages on board all regional trains. No food on local trains.
- Haugastøl - At Haugastøl Turistsenter you can buy hot and cold dishes and beverages.
- Finse - At Finse you can buy hot and cold dishes and beverages at Finsehytta, the Finse1222 Hotel and at Rallarmuseet.
- Fagernut - At Fagernut Vokterbolig you can buy ‘Sluskesuppe’, the soup eaten by the navvies.
- Vatnahalsen - At Vatnahalsen Høyfjellshotell you can buy dinner, lunch and hot and cold beverages.
- Flåm - In Flåm you can eat lunch or dinner at Furukroa or Fretheim Hotel.
