Small and idyllic town
Åsgårdstrand is a small town in the municipality of Horten in the county of Vestfold.
In this idyllic town, you will find art galleries, a hotel, bakeries, a café, grocery shops, a bank and a pub. The old town hall area houses art galleries, artists studios and a library. Many consider Åsgårdstrand to be the ‘art’ town of Norway, even referred to as Norway’s answer to picturesque Skagen in Denmark. It was here that Edvard Munch painted ‘Pikene på broen’ (Girls on the bridge).
