Lærdal

Surrounded by majestic mountains

Lærdal is a municipality in the south-west of the county of Sogn og Fjordane, innermost in the famous Sognefjord.

Lærdal is an ideal base for day trips in Sogn. Lærdal has long farming traditions, and the lower region of the valley is great for vegetable crops. Despite having an inland climate, the water in the fjord keeps the winters from getting too cold.

Activities and sights in Lærdal:
- Borgund stave church,
- The Norwegian Wild Salmon Centre,
- The Nigardsbreen glacier
- Snøveien (the Snow Road)
