Visiting Lofthus gives you a good starting point for many exciting experiences. The surrounding area is often known as the orchard of Hardanger, a name this beautiful district bears proudly. 

The scenery in Hardanger is at its most beautiful in Lofthus, with a fantastic views of the Folgefonna glacier. It is easy to understand why Lofthus was one of Edvard Grieg's favourite haunts.
Spring reveals a pink and white symphony of apple blossoms contrasting sharply with green hills and snow capped mountains, with the fjord as a backdrop.
