Home to one of Norway's best salmon rivers
Namsos is a town and municipality in the county of Nord-Trøndelag , and it is the home of several famous Norwegian rock’n’roll artists and it is a culture-oriented town with long traditions in the timber industry.
Overhalla is located just outside the town of Namsos.
The river Namsen, one of Norway’s finest and most popular salmon rivers, divides the district of Overhalla in two as it flows towards the sea. Close to the town centre, the Namsen is joined by the Bjøra river, which is almost as famous and boasts its own salmon population.
On either side of the river are big, well-kept farms, surrounded by majestic spruce forests that gradually give way to barren mountains. A number of good forest roads provides easy access to the lush and green nature of Overhalla.
