Take a road trip from East to West in Norway
Start by exploring the attractions of Norway’s capital, Oslo. Enjoy the variety the city has to offer. After a few days in Oslo, you drive to Hønefoss, then on to Fagernes, home to Valdres Folk Museum.
From Fagernes, the trip continues to Øvre Årdal and then on to Lærdal, a picturesque village with many beautiful, well-preserved old buildings. The name Lærdal is also famous for the longest road tunnel in Northern Europe, the Lærdal Tunnel. Once through the Lærdal Tunnel, you arrive at Aurland, another lovely, small village along the Sognefjord.
From Aurland, you drive alongside the fjord to Flåm, a traffic hub for tourists, and the terminal station of the Flåm Railway. Flåmsdalen is a fantastic valley and one of the starting points for cycling the Rallarvegen (Navvies’ Road). It offers many great opportunities for mountain walks.
From Flåm you drive to Gudvangen, and from there up the steep hairpin bends known as Stalheimskleiva. Continue to Voss, before arriving in Bergen.
Finish the tour by exploring the city of Bergen.
