The Kjosfossen waterfall, located in Aurland municipality in Sogn og Fjordane conuty, is legendary in Norway. A trip on the Flåmsbana Railway takes you right past the waterfall. In 1951, a stopping place for the railway was built near the waterfall to give train passengers an opportunity to see it up close!

It's an impressive sight and the sound of the water is like thunder. The stopping place is located approx. four kilometres from Myrdal station. The waterfall is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Norway and can be explored when taking the Flåm Railway on one of our round trips.

Facts about the Kjosfossen Waterfall:

  • Altitude of 670 meters above sea level
