Rallarvegen for Groups

The Rallarvegen (the Navvies’ Road) was a road used by navvies during the construction of the Bergen Railway. Today, it is best known as a cycle route of exceptional beauty that offers a multitude of experiences.

Fjord Tours can custom make group cycling trips for 10 persons or more on the Rallarvegen according to the groups wishes. Do not hesitate to contact us at!

Description of the Rallarvegen road

The Rallarvegen road is 80 kilometres long and takes you from the roof of Norway right down to the fjords. It starts in Haugastøl, continues on to Finse and then Hallingskeid via Vatnahalsen and down to Flåm. You can start either at Haugastøl or Finse, where you can also pick up your rental bike.

You can bring your luggage on your bike, rent a luggage bag for the bike or have it transported by train. There are several hotels and cabins where you can spend the night en route.

Fjord Tours can arrange a tailor made tour for your group

The Fjord Tours Group office takes care of every detail of your trip and can organize the following:

We advise groups to book early, especially if you wish to do the trip from on weekends from mid-August until the end of September.

Travel tip

We recommend a stop at the navvies museum Rallarmuseet at Finse and/or at the signalman's cabin Fagernut Vokterbolig. You can have lunch at both places.

Your group can also combine the cycling trip with the Norway in a nutshell® or Sognefjord in a nutshell tour.
