The most well known building in Balestrand is the Swiss facade of Kviknes Hotel. Further along the road there are many villas, and one can follow the history of Balestrand at the various houses.
In the center of the village you will also find St.Olav’s church; the direct inspiration to the chapel in Frozen (as well as giving the name to everyone’s favorite snowman!).
