Vangsgaarden Gjestgiveri is situated in Aurland, a small town idyllically placed in the innermost corner of the Sognefjord. Here at Vangsgaarden, the Ohnstad-Stigen family has welcomed guests for several generations and the hotel has preserved traditions that go all the way back to the 18th century. Vangsgaarden offers rooms, a restaurant and a variety of activities. Our hotel is located right in the middle of some of Norway’s most powerful nature experiences like the Flåm Railway, the Nærøyfjord and the Aurlandsdalen Valley. At our restaurant, Duehuset, you can taste some of the local food our town is known for.
There is public transport (bus) and taxi available between Aurland and Flåm. During the period 1/6 - 31/8, there is a Shuttle bus between Aurland and Flåm available.
Overnight stays
In our hotel wing we have 18 rooms with beautiful views. In our garden by the fjord we have 6 cabins that are suitable for 4-5 persons.
Food
Duehuset is set right in front of the hotel’s main building. Our chef prepares a wide assortment of dishes, and we are proud to present food made from local products in our menu. When eating outside on our patio, you can enjoy a stunning view of the towering mountains and the deep fjord – one of Norway’s most visited natural areas.
In Aabelheim, a house whose history begins in the 18th century, we serve our guests traditional breakfast.
The restaurant is open from April 15 - December 15.
