The hotel's architecture is inspired by the old boathouses that previously dominated Tromsø harbour. The interior is characterised by maritime features such as ship bells, boat floors and other items reminiscent of the area's history as a maritime hub.

History

The hotel is named after Hans Rudolf With, a pioneer captain in TFDS (Troms Fylkes Dampskribsrederi shipping company). In 1867 he became the first captain aboard the Tromsø steamship, which laid the foundations for all scheduled traffic in the city.
