Tour description
This trip starts from the parking lot at Buer about 15 minutes from Odda. Here you can park your car before setting off on a marked path to the blue glacier hut by the glacier. The trip to the glacier is fun and varied and goes through a lush cultural landscape. There are several rivers, bridges, and suspension bridges, as well as ropes to hold on to during steeper sections. Along the entire hike into the glacier cabin, you follow a wild and beautiful river foaming with glacier meltwater.
When you arrive at the glacier cabin, your guide is ready to welcome you. You will then get an introduction to glacier hiking and equipment such as crampons, harnesses, helmets, and ice axes are fitted. The trip on the glacier requires no prior knowledge or experience, and your guide will ensure both your safety and comfort on the glacier.
After the trip, you hike back to Buer on your own, with a backpack full of memories from an exciting glacier hiking trip!
Important information
The actual glacier hike starts at 10:00 or 14:00. You should estimate at least a 1.5 hours walk to the glacier cabin where you meet your guide. Remember to set off enough time for the hike! We also recommend eating before you meet your guide, as the glacier hike starts at the booked time. On departures at 10:00, children from 12 years can join, while on departure at 14:00 there is a 15 year age limit.
