Stranda is in the heart of Fjord Norway with a unique location between deep fjords and impressive mountain ranges making it a superb base for exploring the best of what Fjord Norway offers!

Stranda in the Sunnmøre region is about 60-km from the city of Ålesund (1.5h drive and ferry crossing). The municipality is also home to the slightly more famous town of Geiranger as well as Hellesylt and Liabygda. The particular area is most known for the Strandafjellet mountain, known as Norway’s «powder paradise» offering perhaps Scandinavia’s best skiing conditions. The descent reveals a magic view of the fjord, adding an extra dimension to the experience!

Besides being the «promised land» for powder enthusiasts, Stranda offers activities all year in a fantastic nature and there’s no shortage of fun in nature options here! How about a trip on the skylift to the spectacular view-point at 1062 meters with a view over the fjord of Storfjorden, the valley of Strandadalen and the town?

In the restaurant at the top floor you can enjoy a local meal from local (national) produce. If you’d like to explore some hiking routes while at the top, there are routes starting right by the station for the skylift. If you’re into action sports, there are mountain biking and paragliding options. Other activities in the area include challenging mountain hikes to summits like Slogen, kayaking in the fjord of Storfjorden or a fjord cruise on the UNESCO listed fjord of Geiranger.

Stranda awaits, all year!
