Opus XVI

Opus XVI is a Edvard Grieg Heritage Hotel, a classic yet modern take on the luxury hotel experience, located in the very heart of Bergen with just a few steps from the Fish Market and Bryggen, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

As relatives of the famours composer Edvard Grieg, our desire is to create a one of a kind experience that offers our guests a taste of the composer’s remarkable life, his relationships and his unique life story told in our inhouse exhibition.

During the summer months, we offer inhouse lunch- concerts based upon the music composed by Edvard Grieg. Our ambition is to attract visitors, both travelers and locals, into a haven of music, entertainment, dining and diverse cultural experiences – to showcase what Bergen truly has to offer.

Rooms & Suites

Opus XVI offers 65 unique and luxurious rooms & suites, each room individually designed. The unique architecture allows us to have an excellent variety of rooms and room layouts facing different streets and sights in Bergen. Enjoy the view towards Mount Fløyen or stay in a room overlooking the plaza of Vågsallmenningen or the Fish Market.

Our wish is to preserve and cultivate the unique identity of the building and its history as well as making your stay with us something to remember.

Breakfast

Is included in all our room rates. In addition to a Norwegian buffet breakfast, we offer a la carte dishes made just for you.
