KODE Art Museums of Bergen

KODE is one of the largest art museums in the Nordic countries. Our visitors can appreciate art from the Renaissance to the contemporary era in four characteristic buildings (KODE 1-4) along the idyllic Lille Lungegård lake, in the very centre of the city of Bergen.

KODE 3 has one of the world's best collections of Edvard Munch which contains masterpieces from all periods of his long artistic life. Enjoy guided tours 12 and 14 all summer.

In KODE 4 you can take a walk through art history in an extensive permanent collection with works ranging from Klee and Picasso to Miro and I. C. Dahl, visit KunstLab - the art museum for children and young people or explore KODEs large collection of works by norwegian artist Nikolai Astrup.

KODE 2 is the venue for several temporary exhibitions every year, as well as KODE Contemporary.

KODE 1 you'll find the large China Collection (temporarily closed), the Silver Treasure exhibition, a venue for temporary exhibitions, and the museums large collection of design and Arts & Crafts from the last 500 years. (closed for maintenance in 2016/2017).
