Where is Åndalsnes?

The picturesque small town of Åndalsnes is set within a spectacularly idyllic location in the Romsdalen valley in the north of fjord Norway. Located by the long, narrow Romsdalsfjord, the town is surrounded by steep mountains and beautiful scenery. The small Åndalsnes port located conveniently in the town center has welcomed visitors to its shores for over 100 years. In the high season, plenty of international cruises carrying excited travelers arrive at Åndalsnes cruise port.

Known internationally for its tall mountains, splendid nature, and rich history of mountaineering, Åndalsnes has been nicknamed “the alpine village by the fjord”. It’s a fantastic destination for active travelers hoping to explore the area by hiking, skiing, cycling, or climbing. In fact, the region can boast some of Norway’s most interesting natural attractions, such as Trollveggen, the Norwegian Scenic Route Geiranger-Trollstigen, and the Romsdalseggen ridge.
