Tour highlights
Travel through one of Norway’s most iconic fjords and mountain landscapes on this day tour from Ålesund to Geirangerfjord and Trollstigen. The tour combines a fjord cruise through the UNESCO-listed Geirangerfjord with a scenic drive along the winding Trollstigen mountain road.
Cruise through the Geirangerfjord
Step aboard the fjord cruise through the Geirangerfjord. As the boat moves deeper into the fjord, steep mountains rise straight from the water, and waterfalls tumble down the cliffs.
Along the way, you see the famous Seven Sisters waterfall and spot small historic farms high up on the mountainsides.
Explore the village of Geiranger
At the end of the Geirangerfjord lies the small fjord village of Geiranger. Here you have time to explore the harbor area and enjoy views of the fjord and surrounding mountains.
Walk along the waterfront, browse local shops and cafés, or follow the Waterfall Walkway, a staircase with 327 steps running beside the rushing Storfossen waterfall.
Visit the Gudbrandsjuvet
From Geiranger, the tour continues by bus through the mountain landscape. The bus stops at Gudbrandsjuvet, where you can walk onto viewing platforms overlooking a narrow gorge carved by the Valldøla river.
Drive the Trollstigen mountain road
Travel along Trollstigen, one of Norway’s most famous scenic mountain roads. The road winds through 11 sharp hairpin bends as it descends the mountainside.
The tour includes a stop at the Trollstigen Viewpoint. Step out onto the platforms and take in views of the road below and the powerful Stigfossen waterfall plunging 180 metres down the mountainside.
Return to Ålesund via Åndalsnes
Before returning to Ålesund, the tour briefly stops in Åndalsnes, a fjord town at the end of the Romsdalsfjord, often called Norway’s mountaineering capital.
After a day filled with fjords, waterfalls, and mountain landscapes, you return to Ålesund.
