Gudvangen

Gudvangen is quite a gem and is located at the inner part of the narrow and UNESCO protected Nærøyfjorden. For the fjord- and mountain ethusiasts, the dramatic and spectacular landscape offer numerous hiking possibilities.

On the fjord

Visiting Gudvangen a tour on the fjord can not be missed. The feeling you get when paddling along the narrow fjord surrounded by steep mountains and impressive waterfalls, it just can`t be described in words, it has to be experienced! Both half- and full day kayak excursions including all necessary equipment are available from Gudvangen. There will be a lunch break where you enjoy a good meal as well as the beautiful surroundings.

On the Mountain

Trapped between steep mountains Gudvangen is the perfect spot for the ones who love high mountain peaks. Bakkanosi is easily accessed from Gudvangen and offers one of the best views of Nærøyfjorden just as from a bird's perspective. The hike can be done by most people in generally good shape, but watch out for stepping to far out on the «Nosi» as it is quite a long way down.

Viking village

When in Gudvangen a visit to the viking village is a must. Seek the viking in you and join an exciting, educational, and entertaining journey back in time. Listen to stories, feel the scent of tare and bonfire, taste the viking food and try some ax throwing or archery. Maybe you will bring your family to Gudvangen on your next trip to Norway?
