Skei (also known as Skei i Jølster) is a beautiful village located at the northeastern end of the lake Jølstravatnet, just west of the Jostedalsbreen National Park.

The area is shaped by water in constant movement and has inspired artists, fiddlers and poets for centuries. This is also the home of the world-famous painter Nikolai Astrup (1880 – 1928), who found inspiration and motifs in the surrounding nature.

Popular attractions are glacier hiking, trout fishing, kayaking and a visit to the historical home of Astrup.
