Fløibanen is a funicular railway and one of Norway’s most famous attractions. It is the only railway of its kind in Scandinavia and runs every day from early morning until late night.

There are loads of good reasons for visiting Fløibanen and Fløyen:

  • A ride on the funicular is an exciting adventure in itself. It takes about 5 minutes and brings you to the top of Fløyen (320 m above sea level)
  • Fløibanen's lower station is easy to find, just 150 m from the fish market and Bryggen
  • Two funicular carts, each with a capacity of 80 passengers, run continuously, providing minimum waiting time even with high passenger
  • The trip up is spectacular and on top you get a magnificent view over Bergen
  • At ​​Fløyen you will find a beautiful natural setting, ideal for shorter and longer hiking trips. Marked trails and a hiking maps are available
  • The large store Fløistuen is open every day of the year
  • Fløistuen Heatingroom is open every day from May 1 to October 1, and Saturday and Sunday from k. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m
  • The restaurant Fløien Folkerestaurant at the top is an ideal alternative for lunch or dinner. Open every day during the summer season
  • Mountain bike rental at Fløyen available
  • A two-hour guided tour organized in the period from June to August
  • Fløyen Folk - folk music concerts from June to August
  • Children under 4 yrs. can take the Fløibanen for free
  • The Fløibanen Funicular runs continuously throughout the day and you can use your ticket any time you prefer
  • You need to exchange the PDF ticket for a ticket from Fløibanen. Please present your ticket at the ticket office.
