Norway in a nutshell® Winter Tour

This is Norway’s most popular tour as the full tour takes you across stunning snow capped mountains and icy fjords. You start with a train ride on the Bergen Railway from Oslo, considered "Europe's most beautiful railway" by Lonely Planet. At Myrdal you change to the Flåm Railway, on numerous «most scenic train trips» lists as well, down the very attractive Flåm Valley. From Flåm you take the ferry through the majestic Aurlandsfjord, and the narrow and dramatic UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord to the village of Gudvangen. From here, you continue the tour with a scenic bus ride to Voss before you make your way to Bergen by train. We recommend staying in beautiful Bergen for a couple of days before returning home. The best part is you can customize the trip as you like, start and end where you like, stay and do what you like along the way! To fully appreciate the tour we suggest setting aside a minimum of three days.

Suggested activities during this tour:
Fjord Safari and Viking Dinner | Snowshoe Hiking in Flåm | Voss Gondol | Fjord Cruise in Oslo

Sognefjord in a nutshell Winter Tour

This is our longest fjord cruise, as the Sognefjord is called the King of the fjords for a good reason: it is the second longest fjord in the world. The tour has the added bonus of including two of the world's most scenic rail trips - starting (or ending) your experience the train ride between Oslo and Bergen over snow coated mountains. You will also take a ride on the famous Flåm Railway on this tour as well as the winter fjord cruise on the Sognefjord. A stopover in the charming fjord village Balestrand or Sogndal is "a must" before continuing on the trip to Oslo or Bergen. You have the same flexibility when booking this tour to customize it with activities and overnight stays according to your own interests.

Our third option is an active tour where you get to enjoy the snow up close, wearing snowshoes on a hike, and "taste the winter" through local food prepared on a bonfire. You will experience a varied scenery with high snow capped mountains, crystal clear fjords and impressive frozen waterfalls. From Oslo you travel to Bergen where the tour starts off with a costal express cruise to beautiful Rosendal in the Hardangerfjord. You continue by bus to Eidfjord where exciting winter activities await! Try snowshoes, snow sledding or other fun Norwegian winter activities and relax in a warm lavvu with local food and drinks.

Experience Røros

This tour lets you experience the UNESCO world heritage site of Røros, a unique town in Norwegian history and culture. Founded as a mining town in 1644, the architecture and history of the town is something quite different than what you will see elsewhere in Norway. The World Heritage site Røros, and surrounding landscape include a unique industrial mining town established in 1644, built out of wood and surrounded by a cultural landscape depicting how the copper ore was driven from the mines. The town's placement on top of a mountain plateau, in cold climates with poor growing conditions, created a unique culture, which has been maintained to this day. There are numerous things to do at Røros, from local food experiences, museums, visits to the old copper mines, activities, dog sledding tours, hiking, and skiing.

Guided tour of Røros | Local Food Safari in Røros
