Nutshell tours give you the freedom of independent travel, the advantages of coordinated planning, and an itinerary packed with Norway’s greatest natural highlights—all in one seamless package.

What's included in a Nutshell tour?

A Nutshell tour includes all necessary tickets and travel documents for your journey, so everything you need is organized in advance. You receive a clear, easy-to-follow itinerary with detailed explanations on how to travel, where to transfer between different transport elements, and step-by-step guidance for your route. If you add an overnight stay or extra activity, these will also be included in your itinerary and travel documents. The goal is to make your travel experience seamless, with all essential information and bookings provided in one place.

How do I select the right option for me?

Our Nutshell Tours offer a variety of routes and options. On each tour page, the booking box shows the available start and end points, so you can easily choose what suits you best. Some tours take more than one day, but this is always clearly explained on the page. We recommend taking your time to enjoy the journey—an overnight stay along the way lets you fully experience the destinations, join exciting activities, or simply relax and take in the stunning scenery.

Is there any food included?

There is no food included on the Nutshell tours, unless otherwise stated. There are several options for purchasing and enjoying a meal along the route. We also have several activities and experiences that include food which can easily be added during the booking process.

Can I upgrade my seat?

Accepted Answer

Standard Plus seats are available on selected train departures. If Standard Plus seats are available for your departure, you'll see the option to change this in the travel planner.

Age limit

Accepted Answer

There are no age limits on our Nutshell tours, but please be aware that some tours are more suited for infants and young children than others. Please read more about the different Nutshell tours or see our FAQ here. For pricing purposes, these are the age limits we operate with: Age 0-3: Free Age 4-15: Children Age 16 or older: Adult

Do you provide hotel pickup?

While we don't offer pickup service, our tours begin at stations/terminals easily accessible from most hotels.
