Since 1960 the Aquarium has given visitors unique encounters with life beneath the ocean surface and on land. Here you will find everything from tropical species to animals from arctic regions, and you can learn about the importance of animal welfare, biodiversity and the preservation of endangered species.
The Aquarium collaborates among others with the Mabuwaya Foundation to protect the Philippine crocodile. In the room called Storsalen you can experience the magical jellyfish and learn about their incredible life cycle, did you know that jellyfish have existed for over 500 million years?
On the roof you will also find a wonderful playground with a lovely view over Nordnes and the sea. The Aquarium is just a short walk from the city centre, and offers real animals and real experiences for the whole family.
At the Aquarium you will find:

  • The strangest creatures from the tropical rainforest, the beaches in Norway, the vast oceans and the Arctic regions.

At Bergen Aquarium, children and adults alike can see, read about and follow the animals and aquarium keepers at close range. You can watch feedings and see how fish and animals act when in their element.
