Opening Hours and Access

Stegastein Viewpoint is open 24 hours a day throughout the year, though visiting during daylight hours offers the best views. During peak season (June-August), the platform is busiest between 11:00 and 15:00. The viewpoint features free parking and is fully accessible for wheelchairs and strollers.

How to get to Stegastein from Flåm

Located just a 20-minute drive from Flåm, Stegastein is easily reached by car or regular shuttle bus service during the summer season. You can also join a guided sightseeing tour to Stegastein viewpoint from Flåm with an electric bus, available all year.In winter, a truly memorable activity is a guided snowshoe hike to Stegastein, including a fun introduction to snowshoeing, and fabulous fjord views.

Weather conditions can vary at the viewpoint, so it's recommended to check the forecast before visiting. While the platform is safely engineered for all weather conditions and includes lighting for evening visits, temperatures can be cooler than in the valley below, so dress accordingly.
