An adventurous round trip from Oslo

Day 1: From pulsating Oslo to scenic Flåm

On the first leg of your journey, you travel from Oslo to Flåm. Ride the Bergen Railway to Myrdal passing through shifting landscapes from busy city life up to the quiet mountains. In Myrdal, you change to the famous Flåm Railway, frequently named one of the world's top train journeys. The railway runs from steep mountains through lush valleys, past waterfalls, all the way down to the fjord.
View from inside vintage train with passengers, green hills, curving track, and waterfall.
Enjoy the Flåm Railway, where the interior is unique and the landscape magnificent.
On reaching the fjord village of Flåm, you can check in to your hotel and get ready for some wonderful activities.
How about taking a kayak tour on the calm fjord? Or are you in the mood for a more high-speed fjord safari on the Nærøyfjord? If you want to see the fjord from above, you can choose a sightseeing tour to Stegastein viewpoint.
We highly recommend spending a day or two in Flåm to take advantage of the activities on offer. There are plenty to choose from and you can access them all when booking your tour.
In the evening, you can watch the sun set behind the high mountains while enjoying a Viking dinner at the local microbrewery Ægir.
