Tour description
You start this exciting Island hopping adventure by hopping on a local ferry to your first island of the day. And don't worry about getting on the wrong ferry, a guide will meet you and be with you for the duration of your adventure!
At Hovedøya, you'll experience the fascinating ruins of a nearly 1000-year-old abbey and 19th-century city ramparts. Your guide will explain the stories behind these landmarks and give you an introduction to the fascinating Norwegian culture. Don’t forget to bring your swimsuit to test out the waters of the Oslofjord – an experience not to be missed!
The ferry then takes you to Gressholmen, an island that is sure to be a highlight. With a large portion of the island protected as a nature reserve, you will be surrounded by an abundance of different plant life. The island offers a rich history in collaboration with its natural beauty, once housing Norway's first airport and a long military history.
You will have the opportunity to visit one of the cabin islands nestled in the Oslo fjord - either Bleikøya, Lindøya, or Nakkholmen. These islands are home to several brightly painted traditional wooden cabins separated by flower-covered paths. During summer, Oslo locals may spend a month or longer in these pretty little villages!
Throughout the day you will get great views of both the city and surrounding nature and you can also make time for a cozy summer picnic. At the end of the tour, you'll catch the ferry back to the city center, filled with summer memories from the charming Oslo Fjord Islands.
This Island Hopping tour is a perfect way to spend a summer's day in Oslo!
