Olden

Get to know Olden, a charming village in Western Norway, that is idyllically situated between steep mouintains, blue glaciers and foaming waterfalls. Some of the keywords for the Olden area is: kayaking, glacier hiking, hiking and biking.

On the fjord

A kayak trip on Nordfjorden is a brilliant way to get close to the exsquisite nature in and around Olden. Few things beat the feeling of paddeling out on a blue-green fjord in a quiet valley surrounded by majestic mountains, foaming waterfalls and blue glaciers. The trip is done with an experienced local guide that may tell exiting stories about vikings, glaciers and the fjords in Nordfjord.

On the glaciers

You can not visit Olden without taking a closer look at one of the nearby glaciers. A glacier tour would be perfect for doing this. Tystigbreen is a short distance from Olden and has an ideal location between mountains and valleys with fantastic views in all directions. Together with a experienced guide you will be able to explore the impressive glacier in a safe way – quite a challenging and powerful experience.

In addition to beautiful fjords and ice-blue glaciers the area offers several activities that will suit most people, whether it is a leisurely hike or maybe you would like to discover the nature around you on a bike. For some recreation after all the outdoor activities we reccomend the Spa and pool facilities at the Hotel Alexandra in Loen just a short drive from Olden.
