Fjord Safari on the Nærøyfjord
The Nærøyfjord is one of the most famous fjords in Norway. The narrow and UNESCO-protected fjord is truly a sight to behold and from Balestrand you can join in on an exciting fjord safari with RIB-boat to the spectacular Nærøyfjord!
The Nærøyfjord is a side-arm of the Sognefjord and surrounded by mountains up to 1,700 meters high. The fjord is indescribably beautiful and a RIB-boat trip here is an experience you are guaranteed to remember.
The trip to the Nærøyfjord starts in Balestrand, a village situated along the wide Sognefjord. From here we embark out on the mighty Sognefjord before turning in to the narrow Nærøyfjord where steep mountains close in on us. You will soon understand why the fjord is called the most narrow fjord in the world!
Cascading waterfalls, lush green dots of farmland around the shores gives you a feeling that you are surrounded by magnificent nature. If you tilt your head back you can see tiny mountain farms clinging to the mountains hundreds of meters above you!
We will explore the fjord and usually, we will meet wildlife during the trip, such as eagles, dolphins, otters, and seals.
