Lofoten Fishing from Svolvær
- Water Adventures
- Winter Adventures
Join local fishermen out on the legendary Lofoten Fishery, and catch your own fish! Along the way, you will experience the Lofoten archipelago with steep mountains, islets, and sheaves.
Every winter, large numbers of Norwegian Arctic cod, also called Skrei, swim from the Barents Sea to Lofoten to spawn. Lofoten fishing has been the basis of life for the population for several millennia, and Skrei is the fish that our ancestors the wild Vikings used to make stockfish. Today Lofoten fishery is one of the largest and most famous cod fisheries in the world!
Out on the Lofoten Sea, you will try your luck at fishing, and since the crew knows the area and fishing spots well, the chances to get fish are always very good.
You will get good guidance from the crew, both in terms of fishing, fishing gear, and safety procedures. If you want to take your catch with you, back home, you are of course welcome to do that! You can fillet your catch together with the guide out at sea.
