Kayak Tour on the Geirangerfjord
Join in on a fun and relaxing kayak trip, where you get close up to the majestic Geirangerfjord and the famous waterfalls surrounding the World Heritage Site.
The kayak center is situated 2 km outside Geiranger center. You can walk for 30 min, you can drive there in your car and park there, or you pick up a free bike at the ticket office at the harbor and bike to the kayak base.
Together with your guide, you paddle calmly out on the fjord to the farm Homlong Viken where you will get a great view of the famous waterfall "The Seven Sisters". It is named "The Seven Sisters" because the waterfalls are reminiscent of the hair of seven women. The waterfall is formed by the Knivsflå rivers, deep in the Geirangerfjord. From here you will get a nice view towards Dalsnibba and the other mountains that tower high above Geiranger. Further, on the way, you will also get a great view of Ørneveien, a well-known road stretch which bends up the mountainside of Geiranger.
A kayak trip on the UNESCO Geirangerfjord offers a variety of impressive waterfalls and mighty mountains, and if you look up you will see small mountain farms clinging to the cliffs, a sight that will take your breath away. The guide will take good care of you and tell you interesting facts and stories about the Geirangerfjord and the surroundings.
You do not need any previous kayaking experience to join and the trip is fantastic whatever the weather conditions are. This is truly a perfect trip to explore the fjord - amazing views you only get from the cockpit of a kayak.
