Zip lines are a longstanding tradition in the Flåm valley. The zip lines ('løypestreng' in Norwegian) were primarily used to transport timber, hay, and even animals from mountain farms and rocky outcrops. Today the zipline in Flåm is used for a fast-paced action adventure!

Tour description

You start your day in Flåm by taking a train journey on the Flåm Railway, considered to be one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world. The train climbers up through the Flåm valley and offers panoramic views of wild and magnificent nature.
When you get off the train at Vatnahalsen you walk about 200 meters to the starting point of the spectacular Flåm Zipline. Once safety instructions are completed and you are all geared up, you're ready to throw yourself off the deck and fly through the beautiful valley at speeds reaching 100 km/h! During the zipline tour, you get a feeling of flying through the wild and beautiful nature.
The zipline increases in speed down the valley, and after 1381 meters you end up at Kårdalen summer farm in upper Flåm Valley. After some relaxation here, you pick up your bike and head down to Flåm on a bike ride through the scenic Flam valley.
The bike ride is a gentle downhill ride on the Rallarvegen and goes along the tranquil Flåm River back to your starting point in Flåm. There are several great places to stop for a break or take some pictures along the route.

The zipline offered amazing scenery, and the cycle ride was brilliant - even as an unfit person in my 50s, I managed it easily with just a few walking breaks. You set your own pace, so plenty of time to explore.

What a fantastic tour! Everything super well organized and easy. Train ride through Norway's breathtaking landscape, zipping on the zipline to the hut, then great bike tour back to Flåm. Doesn't get better than this!
