Day 2: Balestrand - Bergen

After a good night's sleep, you wake up to a new day with exciting adventures waiting for you. If you like the excitement with rib stretchers and fantastic surroundings a RIB-boat tour to the hidden gem Finnabotn is highly recommendable. Are you looking for a calmer activity, you can join in on a kayak trip on the fjord, or perhaps you want to go on a Fjord cruise to Fjærland to explore the Boyarbreen glacier and the Norwegian Glacier Museum? The options are many, check them all out HERE!

After a day in Balestrand, it is time to continue the trip to Bergen by the express boat on the Sognefjord. The Sognefjord is not only the longest fjord in Norway, it is also an area of exceptional natural beauty. On the boat ride, you go from the innermost narrow part of the Sognefjord to the open coastal scenery with its islets and reefs.

After an exciting day on the fjord, you arrive in Bergen in the evening and it is quite a sight to see the "city among the seven mountains" reveals itself from seaside! You check into your hotel and can take a late evening walk along the Bryggen Harbour in Bergen, included on the UNESCO World Heritage list before you go to sleep.

Food during the tour

There are no meals included in the tour package, but no worries, there are plenty of options for you to enjoy a bite during the tour.

On board on the train from Oslo to Myrdal and on the express-boat between Flåm, Balestrand and Bergen there is a cafeteria section where you can buy small dishes of hot and cold food, snacks and drinks. They also have options for vegetarians/vegans.

In Flåm and Balestrand you will find quality restaurants in the hotels, which serve tasty local food and drinks. If you prefer a lighter meal drop by the local bakery or the "snack bar". You can also shop in several grocery stores in the towns.
